Living a life that is free from harm and abuse is a fundamental right of every person. When we provide care to adults it it should be caring, compassionate and professionally competent. This means we give adults support and as much choice and control as possible, treating them with respect at all times and promoting their dignity to enhance their quality of life. Adult safeguarding is a complex topic. This course aims to open up the complex thinking that surrounds safeguarding the vulnerable adult. It incorporates and understanding of abuse but the focus is on prevention through appropriate safeguarding principles.
